Overcoming The Darkness Within & Depression
Overcoming depression can seem like a hopeless situation, especially when one feels like they are falling down into a deep dark chasm from which there seems to be no escape, let alone hope. Many in the medical community will say that medical treatment is the only way for help, to which I declare not necessarily so. I’ve walked within the clutches of depression during various times within my life, and my wife, Janiece, almost lost her life to its deadly stranglehold. I am speaking from experience and not some textbook theories and studies that many may hold up as truth, but in the end may do more harm than good. (Please note: I am not saying that some of these methods do not help some to some extent and even serve to provide some hope and prolong life.) It was easy last night to write and post about having a goal of 100,000 books distributed by Christmas on my facebook page. After I wrote it, I thought, “Oh no, what did I do?” I think that a lot after I hit the “return” button. It’s Not Over
You know the old saying, “It’s not over, ’till it’s over!” It is the truth. After everyone had given up hope, the miracles started to happen. One could argue that maybe God wanted it that way and they may be right. After so many years of suffering, pain and crying out to the Lord for help, He did answer. The cry in our hearts to fit into society, to be a part of, to be with someone special, to not be alone is sometimes so loud that we can’t hear anything else. Miraculous Help In The Journey
Yesterday, was an awesome day in the fact that I felt like I climbed the highest mountain, while at the same time crawled through the deepest valley or canyon. It was one of those being in a bubble of peace while in the midst of the storm. At times the storm would graze my being as I would gaze upon the stormy circumstances and begin to lose my focus.
