Contrary to popular belief and some of the medical community’s declarations, I believe some gender issues can be resolved. How do I know? I know someone who has made it through. It is not mere theory, but truth because it is reality. In fact, it is one of the issues I have written about in the biography, “Sentenced To Death, Destined For Life: Tell My People I Love Them! – The Janiece Turner-Hartmann Story.” Of course, this is my opinion and everyone is welcome to their own. I do know that there is hope.
Some individuals who have gender issues, can be very embarrassed about their situation. Sometimes this embarrassment causes them to rise up in anger to defend their stance, but this is not always the case. Regardless of how they react or respond to those around them, there can be a struggle with identity. Some desperately want to come to a place of peace, to a place of fitting into society and a place of feeling good about themselves.
I know that this is a delicate subject and so I choose to tread lightly here. First of all, the Lord loves all His people, so there is no hate coming from this post. I am not one to try to be politically correct and totally ignore the truth in the process. That is stupidity. Also, I am not trying to convince anyone who has already made a decision to change their mind about how they stand. I am, however, sharing the experience of someone whose life has changed and it has made all the difference in the world to that person. She is my precious wife.
It is easy in our society to cast blame and to look down on people who we think look different to us regardless of the varying list in our own heart we choose to judge others by. Each of us has a heart and we have feelings. Each of us struggle with different things in our lives and need other, loving individuals to help us in certain areas of our lives. Sometimes, just to know that someone else has made the journey is more than enough to help someone overcome.
Janiece’s biography is a book that does just that. Through all of her struggles, even to the point of facing certain death, restoration came. The story is not specifically about gender issues as it was only a part of the total miracle. To claim it as such would be to diminish the magnitude of the miracle of restoration that took place. To try to share the whole story in a few paragraphs here would not do it justice. The complete story can be found within the 344 pages of the book with its 89 photos, illustrations and images.
