The God Of…

I awakened in the night hearing the Lord speak to me over and over about He’s the God of… The thing that brought this up was the Foreword that Dennis Goldsworth-Davis wrote for us to add to Janiece’s biography, “Sentenced To Death, Destined For Life – Tell My People I Love Them! – The Janiece Turner-Hartmann Story” written by yours truly. In the last paragraph he writes, “Who knows what miracles are awaiting all whose hearts are open to the potential of the God of Janiece. He is your God too!” So, I’m hearing this going over and over in my spirit as the times goes by. The God Of…

Then the Lord started reminding me of when Jesus said, “I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” Now, this starts going over in my mind. In my mind I’m thinking, “What do you mean, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob and the God of Janiece?” In Dennis’ foreword he states, “He is your God too!” Now, I’m laying there awake and I am meditating on what the Lord means in His reference to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and almost immediately I hear this.

“I am the God of Abraham. I am the source, the beginning of the promise, the vision, the dream. I am the God of Isaac. I bring the seed of the promise into being. I am the God of Jacob. I bring the seed, the promise into it’s fullness/fruition, the fulfillment of the promise, which is a nation born who will bless the whole earth.” In these three, we see the promise of God, the reality of it in seed form, and then the fruit produced by the seed like a fruit tree full of fruit. Jacob’s sons became the twelve tribes of Israel.  Through them the spiritual promise also came into being and His name is Jesus. Through His sacrifice, the Holy Spirit produces the spiritual nation, the sons/children of God that is blessing the whole earth, the true Church.

Ok, I got that, but what does it have to do with the God of Janiece. Then I realized that He is the God of Daniel, the God of David, the God of Jeremiah, the God of Elijah, the God of Paul, the God of John, etc. I started to see where He was going as it linked to one of my favorite verses in the book of Revelation.

Revelation 12:11, “And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” KJV

Sometimes religious people tend to place the saints that have gone on before us up on pedestals to be worshiped like they lived in a way that is unobtainable for us. Paul shook the snake off of his arm and didn’t die and the people decided he was a god. No he wasn’t, He was the same as us, walking with a miracle working God.

Acts 28:3-6, “Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. 4 When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, “This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, the goddess Justice has not allowed him to live.” 5 But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. 6 The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead; but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.” NIV

No, instead, all of the saints, (which means, godly ones), that have gone on before us were just men and women like us as Hebrews tells us. They are a great cloud of witnesses, witnessing to the truth of their humanity walking with a supernatural God who was able to do things in their midst that not only changed their generation but all other generations to come either in carrying on obedience and receiving blessings, or walking in disobedience and receiving curses and judgment.

Therefore, in all things in our lives, we can look to the great cloud of witnesses, the God of ____, and gain strength from the truth that God is no respecter of persons, so what He did for them in their lives, He can surely do for us. The God of Abraham can give us a vision; the God of Isaac will bring it forth into being, and the God of Jacob will make it fruitful and multiply. It has been established. “You can take it to the bank.” You can build your house on it securely.

The God of Janiece, that Dennis referred to, is waiting to work miracles and healings in each of our lives. He chose our generation to do this, not a story from 2000 years ago. He is SAYING loudly to ALL who can and will HEAR, I AM THE GOD OF JANIECE. What I did for her in your generation, I am more than able and willing to do for you. This is His story, which is now HIStory. He is no respecter of persons, so get up off the floor, lift up your head and respond to the One who wants to bring your destiny and purpose to life.

According to Psalm 139, He wrote it out on a scroll in heaven and He alone can show it to you, but the choice is yours alone. It is a good thing. It is the thing you were created/born to do. Don’t let anything ever stop you from running your God-given race to victory. The great cloud of witnesses is cheering you on and so are others in our generation. We are connected together seemlessly and sometimes invisibly by His Spirit across this globe. Go for it! You are not alone! He is the God of (your name here)! Let His testimony SHINE through you!

My Rose - Poem & Art Print by Joseph JamesToday is Janiece’s and my 19th anniversary. The 700 Club told us recently to get ready, because after praying for us, they believe the Lord has even greater things to do through us. It’s always greater than we can think or imagine. Go for it! It’s yours for the taking. No one can take it out of His hands, you however, do have the choice as to whether you want it or not.
